out to eat / cory's show at joe squared / blueberry muffins
we've gone out to eat way too much this week. it was bound to happen eventually. i sometimes get burned out from cooking everyday, especially with all the craziness going on nowadays, so then we just give in and go out instead. it's been a nice change, though. this week we've gone to joe squared for pizza, one world café for burritos, mcdonalds for chicken nuggets and fries, potbelly sandwich works for ham and cheese and pizza sandwiches, stone mill bakery for coffee and a bostom cream pie, and fiesta mexicana for some super yummy mexican food. doesn't seem like a lot, but it's a lot for us in just seven days. it would usually take us a month to go out that much.

i forgot to do my complicated recipe for the month of march (one of my resolutions was to cook or bake something i've never made before at least once a month, but i've been flexible with it and have also allowed cooking or baking with ingredients i've never worked with before), but i am working on two batches of blueberry muffins for this month. i entered omnomicon's blueberry muffin recipe round-robin as a taste tester and was given two very unique recipes to try out. the first batch i made earlier this week was very successful. there was an addition of lemon zest that pushed it over the top. the batch i'm making tonight involves quinoa and pom wonderful juice, both being ingredients i've never tasted before. these muffins are also vegan, which is good since i've always had really good luck when baking something vegan. we'll see what happens!
