hattie's bachelorette party
saturday was non-stop craziness that lasted from 9 am - 3 am. the day began with a blow dry/straighten at padma salon. next was a quick shopping trip to cloud 9 clothing where i picked up a cute new blue coat. then we had our engagement session with jocelyn of studio mathewes, our wedding photographer, up and down howard street, in lexington market, near the rita's at the inner harbor and in downtown baltimore. it was cold and misty out but we managed to stick it out with smiles on our faces. she even managed to get a few of the photos online already before leaving for the week. they are SO beautiful. i can't stop looking at them! look! isn't she the best? (oh, and that cute new blue coat was purchased specifically for these photos!)

right after the shoot we had to rush home, clean up our apartment and prepare some snacks in about one hour's time since hattie's bachelorette party was scheduled for that night and all the boys would be hanging out at our apartment playing risk and drinking beer.

the bachelorette party was so great. i met two new girls, ruth and gina, who were really fun to hang out with. we started the night at red maple and enjoyed pomegranate martinis along with complementary mango shots. even before we got the slightest bit buzzed we were already sharing dirty stories about boys. since we knew things were gonna get expensive fast, we skipped along to my thai for dinner. i had the most delicious basil mussels and i got to keep a whole dish of edamame to myself instead of sharing it. i'm so greedy with edamame!

after my thai we walked to the 13th floor of the belvedere and struggled to order some drinks. they had actually run out of martini glasses which was silly, and we really needed some damn martinis. when they finally found some glasses we downed those drinks a little too fast since they were so yummy. we also ordered these really sweet drinks that tasted exactly like liquid jolly ranchers. it was salsa night, so as the night went on all these random sweaty guys would come up to us and ask us to dance. they managed to snag three of us: ruth, alex and hattie. i decided to just chill, chat and drink my fill. one of the guys i was talking to did ask for my card, but that was right before i told him i was engaged. then he immediately lost interest. at least we had a nice discussion about different varieties of beers.

since we were annoyed with how hard it was to get drinks there, we ended up at club charles after walking past cops, police tape and a huge crowd of kids being kicked out of suite ultralounge at the belvedere. reminded me of the shooting that took place there a few months ago. anyway, club charles suit the mood of the party so much better. i saw three other friends there, too! it was really fun. the boys all came and met us there which doubled our party.

for the final part of the night, we went back to our place and served hattie's cute little cake (which was one of the best cakes i've ever had. gina brought it over from ocean city from a place called desserts by rita). there were lots of riled up boys and girls at our place and i loved every second of it. luckily i had some leftover appetizers ready to be warmed up in the freezer from the surprise bridal party cory's mom threw me, so i busted out some ham and cheese puffs, raspberry and brie pastries and leftover chicken wings for everyone to munch on. loved, loved, loved it! when we get a house i want to host parties and put up guests as often as possible.

I love the Belvedere! Silly about those martinis, though! Bring on the martinis!
